Corton Sands is a stunning beach located on the east coast of Suffolk, England. Located just a few miles north of the popular seaside town of Lowestoft, Corton Sands is one of the most beautiful and peaceful stretches of beach on the east coast. The soft golden sand and clear blue sea make this a perfect spot for a day out with family and friends.

Corton Sands stretches for over two miles, from the village of Corton to the south, to the cliffs at Kessingland to the north. At low tide, the beach reveals a large expanse of golden sand and the sea recedes to reveal a shallow lagoon, making it ideal for children playing in the sand and paddling in the shallow waters.

The beach is backed by soft, rolling dunes, providing a sheltered spot away from the wind. A variety of wildlife can be found here, including a variety of seabirds, such as oystercatchers and gulls, and the occasional seal can be spotted out at sea.

Corton Sands is a popular spot for a range of activities, from swimming to beachcombing. There are plenty of beach huts and chalets available to hire, as well as a range of facilities such as toilets, showers, an ice cream van and a café.

The beach is also a great spot for fishing, with a number of local fishermen taking advantage of the plentiful fish. The waters around Corton Sands are home to a wide variety of fish species, such as mackerel, bass, cod and flatfish.

One of the most popular activities on Corton Sands is kite flying. This is a great way to take in the stunning views of the beach, as well as enjoying a fun activity. You will find many locals flying kites throughout the year, as well as visitors on holiday.

Corton Sands is a great place to visit all year round. In summer, the beach is buzzing with families and children, while in winter the beach is much quieter and often deserted. During the summer months, the beach is patrolled by lifeguards, while in winter it is still safe to swim, although this is advised against on a strong tide.

Corton Sands is a firm favourite with locals and visitors alike, and it provides a peaceful, relaxing spot to escape to for the day. Whether it's for a day at the beach, a picnic, fishing, or a kite flying session, this stunning stretch of beach is the perfect destination for a day out.
